My
Story
I was bitten by the travel bug at 18, the moment I joined the Army. Every bit of vacation time I had was spent in Europe, often visiting my best friend stationed in Germany, where we toured World War II battlefields and breweries. Those early trips planted the seeds of a lifelong passion for history, culture, and travel.
I began my career as a combat medic in the U.S. Army, serving overseas when the war in Iraq broke out. After returning stateside and separating from the service, I quickly realized I wasn’t built to stay still. I became a civilian paramedic and later contracted overseas with the military, living throughout the Middle East and Japan.
Following an injury, I founded a successful military surplus company, which gave me the opportunity to travel to Europe multiple times each year to source inventory. Even after selling the business during a divorce, I was rehired by the new investors to continue traveling and maintaining strong relationships with Central European state-owned factories and private suppliers.
Today, I share my passion for Europe through this site. My journeys bring together two of my favorite pursuits: sampling Europe’s incredible beers and exploring its rich military history. Through stories, photography, and tips, I hope to inspire fellow veterans and travelers to embark on their own unforgettable adventures.
